Yes, we are old (more than 100 years old actually) and we’re definitely ‘small town’ (with offices in Cowra and Canowindra) – two facts of which we’re incredibly proud – but Garden & Montgomerie Solicitors is a leading regional legal practice, with a long history of providing client-focussed, top-quality service. We just so happen to be located well away from the rat race in the beauty of the Central West of NSW.

Way back in 1920, lawyers Frederick Garden and John Montgomerie joined forces to form Garden & Montgomerie Solicitors. They practiced out of offices at 14 Kendal Street, Cowra (the very premises G&M still occupies today) and were the first in a long line of distinguished and successful regional solicitors who have practiced at G&M including Edgar Moseley, Graeme Johnstone, Geoffrey Casey, Rodney Blume, Paul Clark and David Withers.

Several (okay, many) years later in 1973 then-Senior Partner of G&M, Graeme Johnstone OAM, founded the G&M Canowindra office in a fibro attachment behind the shop at 59 Gaskill Street. The shop at the front would in time house the practice until it was moved up the road to the old National Australia Bank building at 69 Gaskill Street, Canowindra in 2018.

Fast forward a few more years. G&M continues to offer our clients in the Central West and beyond the same high-level legal capabilities and support for which the firm is renowned.
