G&M Summer Legal Internship 2026

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join team.

This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment and the opportunity to gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a boutique rural legal law firm. You will work closely with experienced solicitors and legal professionals to support a variety of legal tasks and projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and summarise findings on various topics including wills and estates, conveyancing, commercial and agri-business law.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and editing memos, legal correspondence and internal policies.
  • Assist with case preparation, including organising and maintaining case files, exhibits and discovery documents.
  • Attend legal meetings and prepare summaries or reports.

Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Current law student or enrolled in an accredited JD program.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or experience in a legal setting is a plus.
  • Interest in working and living in a rural community.
