G&M Summer Legal Internship 2026
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join team.
This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment and the opportunity to gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a boutique rural legal law firm. You will work closely with experienced solicitors and legal professionals to support a variety of legal tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and summarise findings on various topics including wills and estates, conveyancing, commercial and agri-business law.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and editing memos, legal correspondence and internal policies.
- Assist with case preparation, including organising and maintaining case files, exhibits and discovery documents.
- Attend legal meetings and prepare summaries or reports.
Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current law student or enrolled in an accredited JD program.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship or experience in a legal setting is a plus.
- Interest in working and living in a rural community.
